Novation SNX has been updated to version 1.0.2. This is a big update for the SNX AudioUnit & VST Editor / Librarian plug-in, which is shipped with Library improvements, new features and bug fixes.
You can read more about the updates from the change log page. This update might not be compatible with previous version of the plug-in, but it is surely better in overall functions than previous version.
Customers can head down to downloads PAGE and download the latest version from there. Demo version is available at the product page and 32-bit installers are under downloads TAB.
As always, thanks for the support and keep posting the bugs to our forums. We are gonna take a look at each and every one of those.
Last week has been quite hectic with all non-work related stuff, but we are back now :)
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends in the USA!
We have just released version 1.0.2 of our Novation Nova II / Novation Supernova II plug-in and it is… How can I say it, AWESOME!
LIBRARY SEARCH is now implemented and working!
NEW PLATINUM SKIN added so you can choose which one you prefer – magical blue or platinum.
RESIZE-ABLE GUI – This is done by scaling the 1.00 images, so it ain’t pretty, but it fits to smaller screens too!
And a lot more….
Here is the change log in full:
Version 1.0.2 / 2018-11-23
This version might have issues with backward compatibility – We are very sorry about that, but in order to keep our product updated, this was a mandatory step to take.
* [New] Patch Librarian now includes search function. This is limited to single patch files (programs). You can toggle search window on by clicking the magnify glass in the middle section of the librarian view. Please note that letter size matters. * [New] Resize-able GUI. There are now three different size options available and we hope they work for you. We can not make the plug-in UI too small or too big with current framework, or the graphics will look dodgy as the images are scaled. * [New] Platinum skin! User can now choose between Normal and Platinum themed skin. * [New] Two new section locks added: 1 Section Lock Performance MIDI Channel and 2 Section Lock Performance Output Routing. When locks are on, incoming performance data from hardware will not change the MIDI channel or Output routings of the part. Data is sent back to hardware if locks are on, which might cause a bit waiting, but if you want to keep your outputs and MIDI channels set straight, this is your option. These locks are on by default. * [Note] Global TX AT parameter value is missing (Transmit Aftertouch [supernova II / nova II keys]). If anyone has this parameter to send over, please do so (both switch on and switch off – should be MSB/LSB value). * [Fixed] Patch Librarian tab program numbers fixed so they start from 000 instead of 001 according to Novation standards. * [Fixed] Local Control switch on the plug-in GUI did not set the plug-in status correctly to handle MIDI messages properly. * [Fixed] Arp Mute status was set to wrong value while recalling data. * [Fixed] Arp Gate knob did not work as expected. * [Fixed] Vocoder Width value 11 caused SysEx package to split, therefore total recall of the part did not succeed. * [Fixed] Multi settings were not processed properly when requesting data to plug-in GUI. * [Other] Changed some librarian menu item names to reflect the usage target a bit better.
Finally we made break through with Access VirusHC Update version 1.5.6!
It was long in the makes, but we are very happy with this release. First of all, it should not crash (fingers crossed eh?). Well, we were not able to bring it down any more. Anyway, here is the list of changes:
Version 1.5.6 / 2018-09-15
[Fixed] Resolved issue where Pitch, Aftertouch and other controls were not passed through the plug-in.
[Improvement] Made some minor core changes to make the MIDI stream work a bit more light weight.
Version 1.5.5 / 2018-09-15
[New] Added experimental MIDI clock generator AND advanced MIDI filtering options to VirusHC plug-in. Advanced MIDI settings can be accessed from Multi Mode & Patch Browser tabs. Button appears right above our logo in the bottom right corner.
[Fixed] Resolved issue where FX was not recalled properly on pre-TI models after project was opened.
[Fixed] Tempo data should now synchronize with Virus on project recall and while initializing plug-in.
[Fixed] Resolved issue where DAW would crash when resetting all notes.
[Fixed] Adjusted some MIDI out detection booleans to make sure MIDI connection is alive.
Below you can see how the new Advanced MIDI Settings view looks like.
And the location of the Advanced MIDI Settings button (bottom right corner).
Use the forum to report any bugs found! This will be the last major update to the VirusHC until we have our new GUI ready. New GUI is 1500×757 pixels, so if you find anything from this version which would require a fix, please let us know asap :)

Here is what we have done:
v1.0.4 – 10.09.2018
[New] If user holds down Left Shift button while adjusting MULTI parameters, parameters will be sent out after shift button is released. This is made since Blofeld does not have multi parameters mapped in NRPN, SysEx or CC. Every time Multi parameters are adjusted, the whole multi must be sent to hardware, including parts data. Now if user holds down shift while setting parts 5-16 muted, multi data and data from parts 1-4 will be sent to hardware AFTER shift is released. (tested and working on MAC so far).
[Fixed] Adjusted program change commands to work more reliably.
[Fixed] When changing program with + / – buttons on different part than what was selected, selected part data was returned from hardware.
[Fixed] If program change was disabled on hardware, program changes were enabled via other sources. This has been changed so that if program change for current part is disabled, any program change commands from any source will be ignored.
[TIP] if you change programs with + / – buttons found in the mini mixer, program changes will be sent to hardware accordingly, starting from 0. Position in the Patch Librarian does NOT matter, unless “LIBRARY CONTROL ON PROG CHANGE” is active. This is because: we do not know the hardware bank content so it is pointless to follow on librarian view and show different patch names on the mini mixer and different names on the librarian view.
We are working to upload the new tutorial videos for all our products. In the meanwhile, if you have any questions, open the chat or leave us a email at contact page.
Summer is almost gone and we are behind our schedule due to computer breakdown and server re-work. Luckily we have some great news for Novation Nova (1st generation) and Novation Supernova (1st generation) owners: Novation SNX Update v0.9.8 is available right now.
If for some reason the product is not listed / available, please contact us.
Here is what we have done:
v0.9.8 – 06.09.2018
[New] Program and Bank change messages implemented and working as expected.
[New] Librarian supports Performance files across all Nova and Supernova models.
[New] Librarian supports Patch files across all Nova and Supernova models.
[New] Implemented Program Write to Bank A -> Bank B and Bank C (Supernova) -> Bank D (Supernova).
[New] Implemented Program Requests from Bank A to Bank B and from Bank C (Supernova) to Bank D (Supernova).
[New] Request single part to plug-in GUI via librarian menu.
[New] Requesting Performance data from Bank A (Nova) and Bank B (Supernova) to librarian implemented.
[New] User is now able to request data from hardware and write requested data to HDD.
[New] Nova 1, Nova 2, Supernova 1 and Supernova 2 banks fully supported.
[Fixed] Renamed nvx file extension from Bank Edit menu to snx.
[Fixed] Resolved issue where plug-in displayed data processing values up to 128%.
[Fixed] Bank request slots increased from A-B to A-D and added SN marking for Supernova compatible request slots.
[Fixed] Resolved issue with Arp Fill-In and Note Ordering not working properly when adjusting values from Hardware.
[Fixed] Resolved issue with Arp Bank value not working properly.
[Fixed] Parts 7 & 8 were not initialized properly and caused malfunction of several parameters.
[Fixed] In some cases, MIDI leds did not work the way they were supposed to.
[Fixed] In some cases, when button was clicked in hardware it did not reflect corresponding value on the software.
[Fixed] Supernova models were not able to establish clean connection with the plug-in.
[Fixed] In some cases, plug-in were stuck on processing data mode even though the process was complete.
[Fixed] Plug-in initialization flag now works as expected. This resulted plug-in display showing NULL values for all controls.
[Fixed] Sometimes plug-in did not react to Local Control switch and might caused some unwanted midi messages going back and forth.
[Fixed] Detecting MSB/LSB knobs, buttons and menus made easier.
We are aware of one bug at the moment and that is: if you click the program – or program + buttons on the quick mixer, program change takes effect only on the selected part! We will fix this soon and have it updated when Randomizer is included.
We did add some topics on the forums about the install procedure for macOS and Windows users, so be sure to check them out if needed. We have a tutorial how to setup SNX for Studio One 4 in Windows and macOS, but these topics will be available early next week.
While we were working with the NovaX plug-in, we thought Nova desktop and Nova II models are almost the same. That was not the case. Nova desktop and Supernova Rack seemed to share a lot same features in between. So, we took the NovaX plug-in, re-worked the code to match with Nova & Supernova data and SNX plug-in was born. In order to avoid confusion, we had to rename the plug-in.
v0.9.7 BETA version is available, which can be found from downloads page.
If you had pre-ordered the NovaX plug-in for Nova II model, let us know and we will change your order to SN2X plug-in, which is fully compatible with Nova II.
Novation Nova editor (NovaX) beta is available now! Our development has reached a point where we were able to build it for beta testing.
Librarian functions are somewhat limited, ie. user can not store or request banks from hardware. Only performance data (all six parts and performance info) can be received and recalled on project load. Randomizer and Section Locks are in the code, but they are not activated since we would like to focus on gathering some feedback from you. Arpeggiator parameters are not yet built in the User Interface.
Everything else regarding to plug-in functions should be all ready to go. Once the arp editor and writing / requesting banks is fully supported, we will put up a new version.
Please note that this editor & librarian is built for Novation Nova-series only! Novation Supernova-series editor will be launched in few weeks time.
We all know how Novation made one of the best VA synths ever. There was one thing that let me down with the sound design and overall usage: MENUs. Modulation capabilities of this synth are phenomenal and everyone who has had their hands on with Nova knows this.
Anyway, we are more than happy to announce availability of Novation NovaX AudioUnit and VST Editor & Librarian plug-in for Novation Nova and Nova II users!
Novation Supernova users have to wait few more weeks and we will roll out SNX plug-in for Supernovas.
Check our product page for NovaX and pre-order in advance to save some cash and get early bird access. Pre-orders will be charged upfront, but as you know: we deliver.
We are still working on with the plug-in so there is no alpha nor BETA downloads available at the moment! We are expecting to roll out the BETA version in June 2018 along with other plug-in updates.
Clavia NL2xR AudioUnit & VST Editor just got a fragment better than you might expect. After the big update of VirusHC during this week, we made some ground breaking changes to our NL2xR.
Here is what we’ve done since version 2.0.0:
[New] About window added.
[New] First Run splash window. Quick instructions to user how to wire the hardware.
[New] Default banks are now in NL2 format, so the preset names won’t vanish when overwriting NL2 formatted bank.
[New] Windows installer now attempts to install in VSTPlugins/Mystery Islands Music.
[New] If plug-in is in performance browsing mode, regular patch request and storing functions are hidden from bank edit menu.
[New] If plug-in is in patch browsing mode, regular performance request and storing functions are hidden from bank edit menu.
[New] Added isDawRunning function in the core to check DAW status. This prevents automation from showing up on plug-in display from other than selected slot.
[New] Patches are now called Programs. All single programs will be stored to /User/Documents/Mystery Islands Music/Clavia NL2xR Editor/Programs/ folder.
[New] Performances are now stored to /User/Documents/Mystery Islands Music/Clavia NL2xR Editor/Performances/ folder.
[New] Program and Performance Request and Store commands moved to Bank Edit Menu and the old drop down selection menu is removed from the librarian view.
[Fixed] When Total Recall did not work or MIDI interface was not present, user had to reselect the MIDI I/O. This caused issue, where currently active data was requested from Nord and it overwrote the current Performance data from Plug-in.
[Fixed] Adjusted timeOut functions a bit further to prevent false timeOut messages.
[Fixed] AllSoundsOff now works as expected.
[Fixed] Data mode buttons now grey out when data is received to librarian.
[Fixed] Bank overwrite works as expected.
[Fixed] Part LEDs work as expected when notes or control change data is detected.
[Fixed] Global MIDI channel changed its value while browsing through patches from librarian.
[Fixed] Cancel Request button did not appear in the librarian view as it should while request process was on.
[Fixed] Unwanted parameters won’t display their values in controlDisplay.
[Fixed] Timeout and plug-in crashing the daw issues resolved while setting MIDI i/o or while requesting data from hardware.
[Fixed] Bank and program displays did not update while changing mode from Single to Performance.
[Other] Changed the way how renaming was applied to empty spaces in patch name.
[Other] Included NL2xR Editor UI.txt for future purposes.
To quickly summarise; move your current banks from Patches folder to Programs or Performances folder, depending which format they are. You can then remove the Patches folder as it is not used. And as usual, the update is available right now!
