Clavia NL2xR AudioUnit & VST Editor just got a fragment better than you might expect. After the big update of VirusHC during this week, we made some ground breaking changes to our NL2xR.
Here is what we’ve done since version 2.0.0:
[New] About window added.
[New] First Run splash window. Quick instructions to user how to wire the hardware.
[New] Default banks are now in NL2 format, so the preset names won’t vanish when overwriting NL2 formatted bank.
[New] Windows installer now attempts to install in VSTPlugins/Mystery Islands Music.
[New] If plug-in is in performance browsing mode, regular patch request and storing functions are hidden from bank edit menu.
[New] If plug-in is in patch browsing mode, regular performance request and storing functions are hidden from bank edit menu.
[New] Added isDawRunning function in the core to check DAW status. This prevents automation from showing up on plug-in display from other than selected slot.
[New] Patches are now called Programs. All single programs will be stored to /User/Documents/Mystery Islands Music/Clavia NL2xR Editor/Programs/ folder.
[New] Performances are now stored to /User/Documents/Mystery Islands Music/Clavia NL2xR Editor/Performances/ folder.
[New] Program and Performance Request and Store commands moved to Bank Edit Menu and the old drop down selection menu is removed from the librarian view.
[Fixed] When Total Recall did not work or MIDI interface was not present, user had to reselect the MIDI I/O. This caused issue, where currently active data was requested from Nord and it overwrote the current Performance data from Plug-in.
[Fixed] Adjusted timeOut functions a bit further to prevent false timeOut messages.
[Fixed] AllSoundsOff now works as expected.
[Fixed] Data mode buttons now grey out when data is received to librarian.
[Fixed] Bank overwrite works as expected.
[Fixed] Part LEDs work as expected when notes or control change data is detected.
[Fixed] Global MIDI channel changed its value while browsing through patches from librarian.
[Fixed] Cancel Request button did not appear in the librarian view as it should while request process was on.
[Fixed] Unwanted parameters won’t display their values in controlDisplay.
[Fixed] Timeout and plug-in crashing the daw issues resolved while setting MIDI i/o or while requesting data from hardware.
[Fixed] Bank and program displays did not update while changing mode from Single to Performance.
[Other] Changed the way how renaming was applied to empty spaces in patch name.
[Other] Included NL2xR Editor UI.txt for future purposes.
To quickly summarise; move your current banks from Patches folder to Programs or Performances folder, depending which format they are. You can then remove the Patches folder as it is not used. And as usual, the update is available right now!
Access VirusHC update v1.5.1 is available now. We added new things, things that were highly requested.
Randomizer – You can now freely randomize any part you wish.
Section Locks – Compine together with Randomizer and you can keep some of the best settings of the randomized or even the current preset. If section locks are toggle on, patches sent from librarian will have your parts locked in place.
Better UI – We made some small adjustment to the user interface. We know there are a lot people asking for a bigger User interface, but at this time and due the last update issues, we were not able to ship it with this release.
MIDI / SysEx state LEDs per part – Now you can see per part which part is receiving data.
Librarian menu improvement – You can now toggle + or – to choose next or previous bank from the dropdown list, without having to open the menu.
Librarian Bank Edit Menu – revised to keep multi data and single data requests on their segments. Multi bank menu actions can be seen when Single Patches / Multi Bank Files button is toggled.
The best is the last one isn’t it? Limit bank view by categories. We made our own way to display all categories in the dropdown menu. Check it out!
time-out issues should be resolved. In some cases, even though the cables and midi interface was ok, plug-in indicated that it was not able to make the connection.
Semitone should behave as expected when knob is moved from hardware.
and some other stuff :)
Using Randomizer and Section Locks together:
This short video shows how to use section locks together with randomizer function. Powerful combination and you can use section locks even when you browse presets from librarian or from hardware.
Category Filter in action
You can now limit your bank view by categories. This is highly requested function so we made our own. This is better. Less clicking and selecting option back and forth. Just toggle on the filter and browse banks nicely created by the patch category statuses.
New sleek UI?
This is not yet the 4k-friendly version like we mentioned earlier. We wanted to fix living bugs first and then focus on the user interface when the core is healthy. We sure hope it is now!
Anyway, we added some new elements like part midi / sysex data indicators, took off the removable rack ears and added new button styles and some more. We will start working on the 4k and 5k user interfaces quite soon.
Thanks for supporting us and reporting any bugs you’ve found. Without your support, this would not be possible :) Have a great winter holidays, we are moving forward to fix more plugins and develop new ones!
Waldorf Blofeld Editor v1.0.0 is out now! We made a lot fixes and improvements since RC1, thanks to everyone who participated! :-)
We were doing a lot debugging before pushing out the version 1.0.0, since we found something, what you might find out as well:
When you are reaching the limit of the Blofeld polyphony or you are pushing the data stream to limit, some sounds start to cut off every now and then.
You might find that “oh yeah I know what you’re saying“. But the reason for this is really the fact that Blofeld starts to dump random sounds every now and then from Blofeld (at least our Blofeld Desktop). Our Editor does not make any requests for those patches, you can check that with whatever sort of MIDI monitor tools. We did and we found nothing.
We did not test if this would happen if MIDI was driven to Blofeld via regular DIN cable (hmmm..). Worth a shot! So, set MIDI in at bloX Editor from Blofeld USB and try to route MIDI out from bloX via regular DIN cable.
Anyway, back to the update story. Here is what we did:
[New] First run splash screen.
[New] User is no longer able to see Multi actions from Bank Edit Menu while in Patch mode and vice versa.
[New] Added about… item in Bank Edit Menu.
[New] Added registration status to Bank Edit Menu.
[New] When multimode controls are moved, the entire multi bank will be sent to hardware.
[New] When multimode controls are moved, data is only sent after mouse control is released.
[New] When multi bank is sent to hardware, plug-in sends only unmuted parts to the hardware.
[New] When global controls are moved, data is only sent after mouse control is released.
[Fixed] If DAW is running, plug-in control display does not show other parts automation changes in it’s display.
[Fixed] Plug-in crashed DAW while playback was on. This was caused because blofeld sends random sysex packages to editor, without requesting any.
[Fixed] When project was recalled or data was pushed to hardware, “receiving sysex” was stuck on the display.
[Fixed] Part 1 is enabled by default. Parts 2-16 are muted due to total recall time. Tech: First packages take up to 3 seconds to clear the Blofeld display and only after that we can send individual parts to hardware.
[Fixed] When multi parameters were adjusted, patches in all parts got broken.
[Fixed] Global Program RX and TX menu items reworked.
[Fixed] Multi Tempo and Volume work as expected. These are included in the multi chunk, so please be patient when adjusting these parameters.
[Fixed] Multi chunk was missing part 9 details in all.
[Fixed] Bank name was not recalled after saving a bank to HDD with Save as or Overwrite.
[Fixed] Some librarian graphics issues improved.
[Other] Made minor change to vertical slider so it has a bit more depth. Easier to read when black scheme is selected.
Waldorf Blofeld Editor & Librarian: “Waldorf bloX” is coming soon. While the new year rolled out, we have been working harder than ever. In December, we moved our office, which has resulted our mailbox to flood over – We have still yet to catch up.
Anyway, in the background, we have worked on with Waldorf Blofeld Editor plug-in as well as Waldorf microQ and Q plug-ins too. In fact, our microQxR and qXr plug-ins are now in version 0.9.9 Release Candidate 3. This is the last stage before we implement the blofeld bank import within these plugins. Try out the latest demo now and let us know how it works out and where we could improve.
Multimode editor to control all 16 parts within single plug-in instance.
Accurate view of the current preset with fast editing capabilities.
Automate almost every parameter.
Total Recall to send your patch data automatically into blofeld up on opening a session.
Extensive librarian with copy, paste, rename, init, randomizing and organizing patches or multi files.
Ability to import presets from microQ and Q (import MIDI file).
Two different GUI’s: White and Black, your choice.
And a lot more!
We are working hard to get this out in couple of days for pre-order. Pre-order / intro price will be set at 34,95€ and this offer will be valid until the end of January 2018 when we expect to release the final version.
Hi, it’s been long time since there was an real update of the Waldorf qXr plug-in development. We did update some graphics across our social medias to showcase and hear your opinion on the different skin sets for qXr and we also made some changes to the plug-in itself.
